Burda 7734

My son likes large wide “hoodies”. He is very picky about what he wears, so I was pleased when he took this top to heart. He actually wears it and opened for the possibility of me making him some more. In the past it seems like he didn’t think I could make anything that was cool enough for him to wear.

I have used a regular jersey and rib material in cotton spandex blends. The hood I lined with a thin cotton spandex.

Having some type of text or logo seems important to him. He is the kind of guy that prefers expensive brand names. But being principle oriented, I will not copy a brand name logo. I decided to trace his name and use T-shirt transfers as a decorative touch (the type that is meant for dark colors’). Appliqués’ just won’t do it for him. The T-shirt transfers gave his top a more “store bought” appearance. Yet it is very personal.

This pattern is a wider shape garment then the one I used for his sister and father, but it is perfect for him.
