Kwick sew 3472 modified

I wanted to make a top in a cotton velour spandex fabric. But what pattern should I use???? I didn’t want to buy yet another pattern unless I really needed it. I bought Kwick Sew 3472 quite a while ago, but I have never used it. So I decided to give it a try on this project.

I eliminated the skirt part of the dress, because I wanted a more fitted shape. Instead I extended the lines of the upper bodice to suit my measurements. In the bottom I used a stretch lace trim and I placed a zipper in back to make it easier to use.

The heart in front I made from two layers of black cotton fabric with batting between. I quilted it, put elastic lace along the edge and decorated it with sequences. This was a relatively fast and fun project.
